Description
We only use vegetable-tanned leathers for our products, a centuries-old method of tanning without the use of chemicals, which produces the strongest, most durable leather in the world. It becomes butter-soft with just a little use and will last the life of your dog and beyond with minimal care.
Choose a collar size that will fit your dog close to the middle of the fitting. For custom sizing information please refer to the instructions in the How To Measure guide below the size chart.

HOW TO MEASURE:
To ensure you order the correct collar size please use this easy to follow guide:
1) Using your dog’s own collar, place it around your dog’s neck and note which hole is the comfortable fit.
2) Take the collar off and lay it flat.
3) Use a taut tape measure or ruler: start your measurement at the top of the buckle and measure straight down to the hole you noted.
This measurement tells you the best size for your dog. If you would like the fit to be slightly looser or tighter, add or subtract a little accordingly.
Compare this measurement to the size chart and select the size that will provide a fitting near the middle.
If your dog’s measurement is near the tightest hole please select the next collar size down. If you dog’s measurement is near the loosest hole then please select the next collar size up. Then add a custom option to get a perfect fit.
As an example, this diagram shows that the dog comfortably wears his collar on the second to the last hole. The measurement is taken from the top of the buckle to the worn hole.
CUSTOM OPTIONS:
If you select a custom fit with 5 holes we will make the sizing so that your measurement fits the middle hole of 5.
Alternatively, if your dog is full-grown, you can choose to have just 3 holes, making the comfortable fit to the centre hole of 3, with an extra Star in the space where the other 2 holes would normally be.
If you are unsure about the measurement, please email us a photo of your dog’s current collar with a tape measure or ruler placed right next to it, with the starting point of the measure at the top of the buckle and a marker to indicate the hole that is the comfortable fit. It is also helpful to send a photo of your dog and it’s age. We will then advise you on the best fit for your dog.
If you provide your own measurement please use our instructions. The entire length of the collar or any other measurement is irrelevant. Diamond Dogs (U.K.) Ltd. cannot be held responsible should you provide an incorrect measurement. We are always happy to help should you need advice or to check the size or custom fit measurement is correct. Custom made collars are non-refundable.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PURCHASE:
Your purchase comes complete with a care and guarantee booklet. Please take a moment to read the care instructions before using the item. You will also find more advice in our ‘Care Information. found in Useful Links at the bottom of the page, which provide all the necessary information to ensure you enjoy a very long life for your Diamond Dogs’ purchases.
If your dog regularly goes swimming or the collar gets soaked, remove it as soon as possible to prevent it from stretching and hang it up to air dry naturally away from any heat source. Once thoroughly dry, which may take 2 weeks or more, apply a quality leather conditioner following the product manufacturer’s guidelines, ensuring that it is applied to the upper leather only and especially around the buckle and the tongue ends. We recommend Fiebing’s 4 Way Care Conditioner, an easy to apply liquid, but many other products are available. If a liquid conditioner is absorbed quickly it will require another thin coat. Once absorbed, wipe away any residue using a clean cloth. Failure to observe these recommendations may lead to the leather deteriorating over time which may cause it to crack.
Never allow your dog to go into the sea wearing its collar. Sea salt is highly corrosive and will affect the integrity of the leather despite whatever aftercare you might apply.
